Meet your tutor, Ellie - Primary Educator
I am a dedicated primary teacher holding a Bachelor of Primary Education while currently undertaking a Masters of Education in Inclusive Education, with experience in teaching students from Prep - Year 6. I have over 10 years of experience working in state and private education classrooms and in learning support roles catering to a diverse range of learning needs. I continue to work in teaching and want to extend my expertise to tailored one-on-one support for primary aged students. I am passionate about helping children reach their full potential while making learning engaging and fun. I can help students fill gaps in their learning, build foundational skills, and grow their confidence to engage in all Australian Curriculum areas.

Mathematics
I have expertise in building strong foundational skills in maths for children with additional learning needs who require support beyond the classroom. I work with all strands of the Maths Curriculum and tailor learning support according to the individual student, and in alignment with the Australian Curriculum. Through an initial assessment I can identify areas of required support and create an individualised learning plan for your child.
Early years support - number, phonics and sound patterns
I provide comprehensive early years tutoring specialising in early number concepts, letter and sound recognition. Children who are finding beginning concepts a bit tricky can grow confident and build essential skills for classroom readiness and during learning. From extensive years of experience, I can identify areas of need and enhance learning and growth through interactive and hands-on learning activities. With a wealth of resources for targeting various learning requirements, I tailor learning plans for even the most reluctant little learners. My sessions are fun and engaging where students enjoy returning for tutoring sessions.
Additional learning needs support
I offer engaging and effective learning strategies to help children with additional learning needs such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and autism spectrum disorder. My expertise includes writing structures and literary genres, reading comprehension, decoding and fluency. Through differentiated teaching approaches I can assist various learning styles and needs.
Literacy and reading support
I teach effective reading skills for students from Prep to Year 6, helping students to decode words, to read and make meaning from various text types through work with inferential and literal texts. Nurturing reading comprehension and literacy is essential for writing success.
Spelling, grammar and punctuation
I offer expert guidance in spelling and conventions of language such as grammar and punctuation in writing for everyday learning in the classroom and in preparation for Naplan and classroom assessment tasks.
